The caller, identified as "Chrissy," told Cuomo's show on NewsNation, "I am wrong about Trump. I'm a proud Democrat, and he's done a lot of things—"
"How so?" Cuomo asked.
"Immigration. I'm happy about what's happening with immigration. I thought the stock market would tank, and I'm pretty happy with my 401K. There's a few things that I just thought things would go wrong and I'm very happy."
"Well, that is big of you to say it'll probably lose you some friends in this polarized environment that we're in right now. But there's nothing wrong with being happy with results, no matter who gives them to you, right? So I appreciate your candor," Cuomo responded.
As Trump has taken the White House in his first six months, cracking down on illegal immigration has remained a high priority as the president has moved to deport illegal immigrants with a priority on those who are public safety threats.
Earlier this week, the US announced a 3 percent rate of GDP growth, surpassing expectations for the economy. However, there has been some concern over the latest jobs report numbers, which revised the June and May jobs growth to a small fraction of what they were before.
Along the same lines, Cuomo also posted a video on his social media this week, where he said that he has been "wrong" about many things. “I’m wrong a lot. We don’t like to say it. We don’t like to admit it. But that’s how you grow. I’ve been wrong about political issues. I’ve been wrong about people," he remarked.
