ALLEN, TX - Allen police officers will be trading their badges for aprons during this year's Tip-A-Cop fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics Texas. Officer Chance Graves and fellow Allen officers will serve tables at Texas Roadhouse locations in Anna on Wednesday, July 23rd, and in McKinney on Thursday, July 24th, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Officer Graves has been involved with Special Olympics Texas for nearly a decade and said the mission extends beyond fundraising, Star Local Media reported. "Law Enforcement Torch Run is so much more than cops raising money for athletes," Graves said. "Because in a world that needs more light, we are the Guardians of the Flame, lighting the way to hope and unity."
The annual Tip-A-Cop event is part of a statewide partnership between Special Olympics Texas and Texas Roadhouse.
Law enforcement officers participate at locations across the state, with guests encouraged to tip generously. All proceeds support athlete training, competitions, and health programs.
