The View mourns Kamala’s loss by wearing all black, blaming Americans, vowing to ‘fight’ for LGBTQ rights

On Wednesday, many of the hosts of ABC's The View wore all black to "mourn" the death of the Harris-Walz campaign following former President Donald Trump's landslide victory in the US 2024 Presidential Election. The hosts, which consist of five Democrats and one Republican, expressed their belief that Trump's win would mark the beginning of the end of America, claiming that their civil rights would be eliminated in the near future.

The women attributed Vice President Kamala Harris's colossal defeat to their fellow Americans and insulted white conservative women for supporting the Republican nominee, referring to them as uneducated. Even the so-called Republican co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, who had endorsed Kamala Harris for president, wore all black.

Sunny Hostin, one of the most outspoken anti-Trump co-hosts, claimed that Harris ran a "flawless campaign" in her brief time on the campaign trail, and urged Americans to "get to work" in order to ensure Democrats don't lose the next general election cycle. Hostin stated that she was "profoundly disturbed" by the election results, claiming that Trump's victory implies she now "has less civil rights" and expressed shock that Americans would elect an "insurrectionist" to take over the White House. The co-hosts agreed with Hostin's statements.

Hostin questioned why Trump won the white female and Latino male vote, and asked: "Why do you think that uneducated white women voted against their reproductive health freedoms, and why do you think Latino men voted in favor of someone that is going to deport the majority of his community?"

Other co-hosts, including Anna Navarro, voiced anxiety that Trump's election meant LGBTQ people, women, the elderly, and immigrants may lose their rights. She vowed to "fight" for them. This is despite the fact that Donald Trump was the first president in US history to appoint a gay cabinet member, Richard Grenell.

Joy Behar, the most avid Trump hater of all, had a breakdown over Trump's win and told her fellow co-hosts: "I vehemently disagree with the decision Americans made."
