Kids take over White House reporters’ jobs for the day, find out Trump’s favorite ice cream, past president

On Tuesday, to recognize "Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day" at the White House, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took questions from a crowd of kids in the White House briefing room.

Several questions were fielded by Leavitt, including inquiries about Trump's favorite ice cream, whether the president likes to give hugs, as well as President Trump's favorite soccer player.

The little girl who asked, "What's Donald Trump's favorite ice cream?" was told by Leavitt that she has seen the president eat ice cream sundaes. The children, many from the families of reporters who usually sit in the White House briefing room, ranged in age and had questions prepared to ask Leavitt from their seats.

One child asked Leavitt who Trump's favorite president was aside from himself, to the laughs of many of those gathered in the room. Leavitt answered, saying that it was a "good question" because it "would be probably himself."

"Now I think that perhaps he would say George Washington. I know he speaks very highly of George Washington, who was, of course, the first president of our great country, and he has his big, beautiful portrait of him hanging inside the Oval Office."

The "reporters" for the day also asked Leavitt how many people Trump has fired. Although the Trump administration has let go of thousands of federal workers, Trump, personally, Leavitt said, has only fired one person.

Press Secretary Leavitt was then also asked about the topic of the media, specifically, one boy asked about Leavitt's "least favorite" news outlet in the media room. She responded that it really "depends on the day" and what is going on.
