Vance wrote in a post on X, "Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of 'Slava Ukraine' protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared. I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone. (Nearly all of them agreed.)"
"It was a mostly respectful conversation, but if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a sh*t person," Vance added.
According to WLWT, a group of pro-Ukraine protesters were spotted outside Vice President JD Vance's home in Cincinnati, Ohio. Vance did not comment more on the situation aside from the post.
The incident comes after the clash between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the VP as well as President Donald Trump when the three met at the White House last week to discuss how to negotiate peace in the Ukraine-Russia war. Since the meeting, the Trump administration has pressured Zelensky to come to the negotiating table on a rare earth mineral deal that would establish economic benefits for the US in Ukraine. The administration stopped all military funding to Ukraine earlier this week, and the next day, Zelensky said that he would be signing the deal in any format that was convenient for the US.
