Singer Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were photographed having dinner together in Montreal on Monday, July 28, as the two are both recently out of long-term relationships.
People confirmed that Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, dined at local restaurant Le Violon and met with Chef Danny Smiles during their visit. The two were reportedly seen heading into the kitchen after their meal to thank the staff. TMZ, which obtained images of the occasion, reported that the pair enjoyed cocktails and a lobster dish, among other items.
This appearance comes just weeks after Perry and actor Orlando Bloom ended their long-term relationship. People confirmed in June that the couple had ended their engagement after a nine-year on-and-off relationship. Bloom had proposed six years prior.
Shortly after the breakup was made public, representatives for both Perry and Bloom issued a joint statement to People. “They had been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the statement read. The pair share a 4-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, and are said to remain united for her well-being.
On July 6, though, they were spotted aboard a yacht off Italy’s Amalfi Coast alongside Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos.
Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire announced their separation in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple share three children: Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
“Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversation, we have made the decision to separate.” Trudeau added, “As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you.”
