"The FBI is releasing a new photo in order to identify a suspected protester who brandished a pistol and fired toward agents conducting lawful activity in #Camarillo on 7/10. A reward of up to $50k is offered for info leading to his ID, arrest & conviction. Call 1 800 CALL-FBI," the agency wrote in a post to X.
Footage taken during a July 10 immigration raid at Glass House Farms, a state-licensed weed farm, shows a man shooting a pistol at federal authorities. He was part of the protest that broke out as ICE agents conducted the raid. 361 illegal immigrants were arrested during the raid, with many of them being convicted of crimes such as rape, child molestation, kidnapping, and others.
A professor from a California university was placed under arrest for throwing a tear gas canister back at law enforcement after agents deployed them, police said. In the aftermath of the raid, 10 minors were found working on the weed farm, which the DHS said raises questions about possible child exploitation and labor, as 8 of them were unaccompanied minors.
Democratic politicians condemned the raid, with some of saying that those on the farm were “picking our food." Governor Gavin Newsom lashed out at the Trump administration, characterizing the raid as showing “kids running from tear gas” as well as a child “crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields.”
