Republican senators are going down to the wire to enact President Donald Trump’s agenda by passing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Senate majority leader John Thune (R-S.D.) is trying to thread the needle between moderates, who do not want steep cuts to Medicaid, and conservatives who want measures dealing with the United States’ fiscal cliff.
This comes as no Democrat amendments have passed the marathon voting session.
An amendment by Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) that would have raised taxes on single filers making at least $25 million and couples making $50 million failed.
