In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised ICE personnel for their “incredible strength, determination, and courage,” declaring that his administration would prioritize enforcement in cities he said had become “havens” for undocumented immigrants and “centers of Democrat power.”

“In order to achieve this, we must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America’s largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside,” Trump wrote. “These, and other such Cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens.”
Trump also took aim at Democratic city leadership, accusing the politicians of fostering urban decay and deliberately undermining law enforcement. “These Radical Left Democrats are sick of mind, hate our Country, and actually want to destroy our Inner Cities — And they are doing a good job of it!” he added.
Trump said he would mobilize not just ICE but also Border Patrol and other federal law enforcement agencies to concentrate efforts on “crime-ridden” cities and regions that have adopted sanctuary policies for illegal immigrants.
“You don’t hear about Sanctuary Cities in our Heartland!” he added, contrasting rural America with Democratic strongholds.
It was revealed last week that ICE is preparing to deploy Special Response Teams (SRTs) to five sanctuary cities that have been the sites of some left-wing riots: Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, and Northern Virginia. The units, trained for high-risk operations, have reportedly been ordered to “stand by.” An official timeline for the deployments remains unknown.
