‘No Kings’ assassin suspect identified as former appointee of Tim Walz

The suspect in the shooting of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses has been identified as Vance Luther Boelter, a former appointee of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, according to reports.

Vance Luther Boelter, 57, reportedly posed as a police officer in a false law enforcement vehicle in the targeted shooting of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, as well as Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, per the New York Post. Hortman and her husband were killed in the shooting while Hoffman and his wife were hospitalized.

The suspect was first identified by The Blaze's Julio Rosas, who wrote, "It appears it is the same Boelter who was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board in 2019 by Gov. Tim Walz. He [was] appointed to the Governor's Workforce Development Council in 2016 by then-Gov. Mark Dayton."

The suspect also had a number of flyers with the words "No Kings" in his vehicle, according to police. In addition, he had a manifesto with a list of lawmakers' names, including both Hortman and Hoffman, along with other writings.
