Anti-natalist WA man arrested for supplying 270lbs of bomb making material to aid Palm Springs fertility clinic bomber

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested a man linked to the bombing of a Palm Springs, California fertility clinic in May. The FBI said that 32-year-old Daniel Jongyon Park of Kent, Washington, was arrested at the JFK Airport in New York on Tuesday.

The FBI said that Park was arrested on charges "alleging he provided material support to the Palm Springs fertility clinic bomber by shipping and paying for significant quantities of an explosive precursor." Park was arrested at the airport after he had been deported back to the United States from Poland, where he had fled four days after the bombing. If convicted, Park faces a maximum of 15 years in federal prison.

Per KOMO, Park and Guy Edward Bartkus, the bomber who died in the May 17 explosion, had connected in online anti-natalist movement forums and bonded over a "shared belief that people shouldn’t exist," authorities said.

The Department of Justice said that Park shipped 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate to Kartkus in January, and bought another 90 pounds to ship to Bartkus days before the explosion. Ammonium nitrate was reportedly purchased by Park in multiple online orders between October 2022 and March 2025.

Akil Davis, the FBI’s assistant director in charge, said that authorities found in Park’s Kent home "an explosive recipe that was similar to the Oklahoma City bombing."

Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement, "This defendant is charged with facilitating the horrific attack on a fertility center in California. Bringing chaos and violence to a facility that exists to help women and mothers is a particularly cruel, disgusting crime that strikes at the very heart of our shared humanity. We are grateful to our partners in Poland who helped get this man back to America and we will prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law."

FBI Director Kash Patel said, "Park allegedly sent large amounts of explosive precursors to the man who drove a car bomb to a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, an attack that potentially could have killed innocent people. The FBI and our partners work together to find and hold accountable those who engage in domestic terrorism and other illegal activity. I also want to express my thanks to authorities in Poland for their vital assistance in this case."

On May 17, Bartkus drove a car containing a bomb into a fertility clinic in Palm Springs. He detonated the bomb, killing himself, injuring multiple people, and destroying the clinic’s building. The Department of Justice said Bartkus’ attack "was motivated by his pro-mortalism, anti-natalism, and anti-pro-life ideology, which is the belief that individuals should not be born without their consent and that non-existence is best."
