In a post to Truth Social on Friday, President-elect Donald Trump said that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has requested to visit with him at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
"Where are you? When are you coming to the 'Center of the Universe,' Mar-a-Lago. Bill Gates asked to come, tonight. We miss you and x! New Year’s Eve is going to be AMAZING!!! DJT," Trump wrote.
This comes as various tech executives have been meeting with Trump at his Florida estate ahead of his January inauguration. Some executives have donated to his inaugural fund.
Trump met with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ahead of Christmas, with the billionaire donating $1 million through his company to the fund. Joining Bezos for dinner was his fiance, Lauren Sanchez. Amazon will also be streaming the inauguration, which will amount to an in-kind donation valued at another $1 million.
TikTok CEO Shou Chew has also met with Trump, as the company is fighting its looming ban in the US.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with Trump in late November for a private meeting. In December it was revealed that Zuckerberg directed his company to make a $1 million donation to the inaugural fund.
While Gates reportedly donated $50 million to a Vice President Kamala Harris PAC in the 2024 election, he congratulated Trump on his landslide victory in November, per The Hill. "Congratulations to President Trump and VP-elect Vance. America is at its strongest when we use ingenuity and innovation to improve lives here in the U.S. and around the world. I hope we can work together now to build a brighter future for everyone."
