Court documents state that Burke allegedly strangled, bit, and hacked her father Timothy Burke to death with an ice pickaxe around 8 pm on Nov. 5. She then sat down next to her father to watch him die. Burke told police that the killing "had to happen today," saying that she carried out the slaying to "help people change their attachment to their parents," court records said.

Burke is a lesbian space rocket program manager for Jeff Bezos's company Blue Origin, according to her LinkedIn page. Public records show she is married to prominent transgender author Samantha Leigh Allen, a biological male who is an editor for the trans magazine “Them.”

The accused butcher was apparently enraged about the election and snapped after learning that Trump would defeat Vice President Kamala Harris, per the New York Post. Her father allegedly refused to turn out the lights, sparking the murderous rampage. Burke went upstairs, grabbed an ice pickaxe, tripped her father, strangled him, and bit him while he was on the floor. She then allegedly attacked him repeatedly with the sharp weapon, killing him, according to court filings.
When Seattle PD officers arrived on the scene, Burke was found "clapping ... because she was so happy," police said. She exited the home with her hands up in the air and blood smeared on her face, according to police documents.

Burke reportedly told police that Donald Trump's landslide election victory "overwhelmed" her, prompting her to reach a breaking point. She explained to authorities that she had a strained relationship with her father that allegedly didn't have many "boundaries," leaving her "hyperfocused and disorganized."
