The Washington Post cannot stand the fact that Americans are still hearing the message of Donald Trump despite their best efforts. They are placing the blame on prominent conservatives like a Jack Posobiec, Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon and their wide social media reach.
The Washington Post has conducted an analysis to try to figure out how Americans are still able to hear populist messages from the MAGA right despite social media bans, the self-censorship of cable news networks, and gag orders from Democrat judges.The outlet laments that three years after the 2020 election which ceded the White House to Joe Biden, "Trump is as potent a political force as ever, with an army of amplifiers ensuring that his messages—true or untrue—reach a broad swath of the American public." Even worse, they say, Trum is "running roughly even in national polls."
Just as in 2016 and 2020, the leftist media establishment cannot understand Trump's popularity or the insistence of so many conservatives that the economic, immigration, and foreign policy plans put out by Trump are the right course for the country.
Trump's new social media platform Truth Social is a key factor in WaPo's analysis, which they say "is influential because it sustains the networks of MAGA influencers, culture warriers and election deniers who power the right-wing media and guide the rhetoci and policies of many Republican elected officials. It directly connects Trump to influencers with enormous networks and audiences outside the platform," they find.
Who are those influencers? Steve Bannon, host of War Room, former Senate aide Mike David, TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, Human Events' Jack Posobiec, commentator Benny Johnson, and even some of those in the House GOP.
WaPo's primary complaint is that conservatives are still able to speak their mind, and yes, even able to publicly agree with Trump, despite the best efforts of leftist media and Democat politicians to block them from being able to speak at all.
The authors seem to believe that these people all take marching orders from Trump, that the messages coming from the MAGA right are all intensely coordinated. They cannot fathom the idea that many Americans share the same views as Trump and believe that his leadership is the best course for the country at this time.
WaPo, and the Democrats who perhaps direct the narrative flow of the outlet, continue to make the same mistakes they did in 2016. Back then, after Trump's presidential win, they engaged in much sturm und drang to try to understand just how Americans could have voted Trump into office. They spent four years trying to figure it out, and when they couldn't figure it out, they spent even more time trying to suppress the views of those voters.
Now, they are making the same assumptions, that no one but no one could possibly vote for Trump were it not for some external nefarious forces and voices directing them at the ballot box. They believe they have to protect voters from these voices, but what they don't realize is that Posobiec, Kirk, Bannon, and the others speak for a swath of the American public that WaPo simply refuses to acknowledge or understand.
